Anwaar ul Haq Kakar is one of the founders of Balochistan Awami Party, famously known as BAP Party. The party was formed by Pakistani establishment in 2018 when they overthrew the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government in Balochistan. At that time, Anwaar ul Haq Kakar was actively engaged in establishing the new party to ensure an anti-PML-N government is formed.

However, the times have changed. Today, Anwaar ul Haq Kakar was nominated by the same Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader, the incumbent Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Who is Anwaar ul Haq Kakar?

It is pertinent to mention that Anwaar ul Haq Kakar was elected as a Senator on a General Seat. He took oath of his office as Senator on 12 March 2018. He has remained instrumental in passage of several laws presented in the Senate of Pakistan. Moreover, he was also actively participating in political activities at the time of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government from August 2018 until its removal in April 2022.

Although, the issue of caretaker Prime Minister has remained a major challenge for the outgoing government. There were several names proposed for the office. The names included Ishaq Dar, Dr. Hafeez Peerzada and former Pakistani Ambassador Jillani.
