Punjab Government’s ‘Dhee Rani’ program plans to assist underprivileged couples with their wedding ceremonies.
All About Punjab Dhee Rani Programme. The Punjab Government began this amazing initiative to support the young people for their marriages. The proponents claim that this initiative is to ensure the youth can marry at early ages. The initiative focuses the global challenge of ageing populations in several countries. Thus, it seems to be a long term goal of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, the party in control of Punjab province.
Punjab Dhee Rani Programme is the literal Urdu translation for Collective Marriages Programme. This programme aims to enable deserving parents to fulfill their socio-religious obligation in a dignified manner. Marriage is considered as a sacred social contract in Islam which forms the basis of stable and happy family life.
The current economic situation of the country and financial constraints prevents many underprivileged parents from performing this obligation for their children. The collective marriages Programme will create a positive impact by fostering a sense of Government’s ownership, hope, and stability in society.
This initiative aims to alleviate their financial burden by providing Rs100,000 via ATM cards along with essential home items like furniture, crockery, and clothing. Additionally, meals will be arranged for their wedding celebrations.
