Mushaal Accuses India of Turning Kashmir’s Paradise into a Slaughterhouse. Mushaal Hussein Mullick, wife of unlawfully imprisoned Kashmiri Hurriyat Leader Mohammad Yasin Malik, highlighted Kashmir’s multifaceted identity, saying it’s not only renowned for its breathtaking beauty, but also for its rich cultural heritage and resilient people.
Speaking at an event “Kashmir Jannat Nazeer”, Chairperson Peace and Culture Organisation praised the initiative for highlighting the rich cultural legacy of Kashmir and its role in promoting peace and understanding.
She said that Kashmir was not only known as a paradise on earth because of its breathtaking and unparalleled beauty, but it was also a beacon of cultural richness and resilience.
However, Mushaal lamented that the Indian occupation forces converted the Paradise on earth as a killing field and garrison city, where they were given free rein to abuse, humiliate and massacre Kashmiri men and women.
She said that events like ‘Kashmir Jannat Nazir’ served as a reminder of our shared heritage and the importance of promoting harmony, peace and unity through cultural expression, besides showcasing Kashmiri handicrafts, traditional attire, cuisine and music.
The Principal of the College presented Mushaal with a Kashmiri Cap as a symbol of solidarity.
The chairperson while visiting the stalls pointed out that such events provided the people an opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich traditions of Kashmir, fostering a deeper appreciation for its cultural heritage.
She emphasized the role of cultural festivals in bridging divides and promoting unity, as Kashmir’s culture reflected the spirit and creativity of its people.
However, Mushaal said that the culturally rich scenic valley had been reduced into a slaughter house by Indian forces, who were committing atrocities including human rights abuses, enforced disappearances and killings.
She emphasized that despite facing severe repression, the brave Kashmiri freedom fighters remained resolute in their determination to free their region from Indian subjugation.
The chairperson stressed the need for importance of international support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. She urged the Indian government to cease its human rights abuses and work towards a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
Mushaal called upon international community and world powers to take notice of the worst human rights violations in IIOJK and take tangle steps to ensure peaceful and lasting solution to the decades-old Kashmir conflict as per aspirations and wishes of Kashmiri people.
She was accompanied by her 12 year old daughter Raziyah Sultan dressed in traditional Kashmiri pheran and cap.
