Pakistan Air Force’s Domination of the Skies during the India-Pakistan Conflict is the Reason.
Over 35 Countries Look for Training from Pakistan Air Force as the Pakistani Air Force was able to thwart an attack on its territory and bring down five Indian fighter jets while remaining within its own airspace. The successes of Pakistan Air Force has already ended up in lowering international rankings of French Rafale fighter jets. Although, a comparison of JF-17 and Rafale shows multirole operations, including air superiority, ground attack, and precision strike missions. Yet, the success of JF-17 is attributed to the professionalism of officers of Pakistan Air Force. It comes after United Kingdom calls.”
Most interestingly, the defense budget of Pakistan stands at 23rd in the global ranking with merely $10.34 billion. Whereas, India ranks 4th in the top 15 largest Defense Budgets in the world with $81 billion in spending.
However, the remarkable success of the operation is resulting in the intention of several countries to enhance the operational capacity of their officers. There are several countries who already send officers of their respective air force and navy to Pakistan. The training at the PAF is conducted through a thorough system of training, which caters for specialized knowledge about the world, military tactics, and material sciences.
Countries Whose Officers Get Training at Pakistan Air Force
The PAF Academy trains officers of the PAF, and cadets and officers of the Pakistan Army, Navy and other countries including Bangladesh, Brunei, China, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Turkey, Turkmenistan and the UAE.
Interestingly, India had withheld the assets of Pakistan Air Force in 1947 after partition of British India. Pakistan has established a strong and well trained air force on its own. The PAF Academy stands as a hallmark of excellence in air operations.
The air dominance of Pakistan’s Air Force first came into light during the 2019 standoff between India and Pakistan. Pakistan had shot down a MiG-21 fighter plane and arrested its pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman as a Prisoner of War on February 27, 2019. On May 7, 2025, Pakistan downed 6 Indian fighter jets within Indian territory while remaining in the Pakistani airspace. These include the latest Rafale jets, the French-made twin-engine, multirole fighter jet developed by Dassault Aviation.
