It has been 600 days since Jammu and Kashmir losing their special autonomous status. During this period, 323 Kashmiri citizens were martyred by Indian security forces, more than 1753 Kashmiri’s got injured and over 14000 people were arrested. Additionally, more than 23,000 women have been widowed, more than 110,000 children have been orphaned and more than 11,000 women have been raped by Indian military forces. Last evening 2 Kashmiri’s were killed during the firing of the Indian army, at district shopian, Jammu Kashmir.

Since the 5th of August, human rights violations are continued in occupied Kashmir. Unfortunately, the world is still quiet on this illegal takeover agenda.

Kashmir is presenting the biggest sub-jail in the world. Indian forces are violating human rights as well as women’s rights. To quiet the freedom movement of the Kashmiris, the Indian government is using many ruthless and human violating measures. In the past few years, thousands of women, men, and innocent children have been killed. Health care workers have been murdered, illegally jailed, and harassed by Indian security forces. They are routinely facing such abuses because they are suspected of treating armed forces, and are therefore believed to be supporting the demands of the militant groups. They have also been forced to make fake reports of deaths.

Many of the citizens randomly arrested and now have been released, but only after promising not to criticize the government. Some senior Kashmiri political leaders, including chief ministers, social workers, remain in the custody of security forces.

“Hundreds of people remain detained without charge, journalists are threatened with arrest, and access to the internet is limited,” wrote Human Rights Watch, an international rights monitoring group.

A university student of Srinagar said “Since August 5 last year we are living under a fascist regime like prisoners in an open-air cage, he said. “Killings, arrests, detentions under draconian laws, destruction of property while the world has turned a blind eye toward us.”

Severe restrictions on the movement of people have imposed on the region. Thousands of paramilitary and security forces are out on the streets in the capital Srinagar and other parts of the region. Several residents said government forces stopped them at checkpoints. Shops and businesses have remained closed.

Muheet ul Islam is an India-based Kashmiri journalist who said the local population was apprehensive but staying quiet due to fear.
“Right now, no one is speaking against the newly introduced laws because people fear that they might be imprisoned for months, the way several mainstream Indian politicians, pro-freedom leaders, businessmen, lawyers were detained a few days before August 5 last year,” Islam said.

Jammu and Kashmir no internet access for 213 days from 4 August 2019 until 4 March 2019. In January 2020,  only 2G services have provided due to interference of the Supreme Court. At first, the government authorized websites that could only use up by verified users. Those restrictions are removed later, but only slow service of the internet is provided.

This conflict situation has also a bad impact on Kashmiri children’s health and education. The closures and violence seen in schools, Many classes learn less than 50% of the curriculum for the year. This loss of learning can critically affect students’ future. This damage also affects future generations. In many areas, due to the frequent violence students have problems with mental health, as well as stunted intellectual development and physical growth. Many parents didn’t send their girls to school to avoid the risk of sexual violence, abuse, and other forms of harassment.

Human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir are one of the major interruptions in the peace-building process, and people in Pakistan and the world are concerned regarding the violations of human rights in the area. The provision of basic rights for the Kashmiri people is ridiculous, and international organizations have many times highlighted the issue.

The situation of Kashmir is becoming worse day by day. Kashmir issue becomes a critical question in South Asia. Although this problem needs to be resolved by Pakistan and India Consensus.
