Its summer! We change our wardrobe to stay cool, but did you know it’s also the right time to change your diet? Being outside exposed to the sunstroke and sweating from the heat can put you at risk for dehydration and vitamin deficiencies. Now its time to welcome profuse sweating and never ending thirst.

Here is a list of the best food for summers to maintain minerals in your body, keeps you hydrated and saves you from sunstroke.

1.     Cucumber

Cucumber’s high water content and are pleasant to eat in hot weather. They can help relieve dehydration  and bring down the body heat. Cucumbers are made up of over 90% water, they will help keep you energized and refreshed all day. Eating a Long English Cucumber is almost as hydrating as drinking eight glasses of water per day.

Cucumbers are low in calories but high in many important vitamins and minerals. These are composed of about 96% water, which may increase hydration and help you meet your daily fluid needs. Cucumber will also help flush out toxins, help with hangovers and aid indigestion. Cucumbers can be enjoyed in many ways , Just slice some up and sprinkle on some salt or pickled in everything from salads to sandwiches.

2.     Watermelon

Watermelon are made-up of over 90 percent of water, so it’s definitely the best way to keep yourself hydrated. This fruit is super hydration hero, and fluids are exactly what you need when the heat is on. It is not only a great source of water but boost the body with power-packed nutrients like Vitamin B and C, magnesium, potassium and fiber.  “Watermelon also contains lycopene, which protects your skin cells from damaging heat of sun” said registered dietitian Janel Funk.

Eating watermelons help to prevent skin damage caused by the rays of the sun and improves heart health. Watermelon will also prevent the occurrence of sunstroke, cancer, digestion and keeps the stomach cool.

3.     Yogurt

Yoghurt is one of the coolest food to have in summer, keeps you hydrated and boost your energy levels at the same time.. Yogurt has high water content makes you hydrated and more cooler than ice-cream can. The yogurt contains dose of probiotics, which will keep your digestive system running smoothly. Eating yogurt will make it easier for your body to absorb nutrients from other food items that you eat.

Yogurt is rich with vital nutrients like calcium, vitamin B-2, vitamin B-12, potassium, and magnesium. Yogurt is best for controlling blood pressure, also keep your bones and teeth healthy. Yogurt is also a great stress-buster and lowers anxiety levels.

4.    Plum

Plum is another coolest the coolest food of summer, keeps your body cool internally.. Plum is rich in nutrients that promotes health. They contain vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin B1 and, minerals many minerals that keep yourself energetic and hydrated whole day. These tasty fruits are rich in dietary fibre and sorbitol help relieve constipation and other digestive difficulties.

5. Peaches

Sweet yellowish-orange peaches are perfect for summer season. By eating peaches daily you can relive dehydration. It is one of the most healthiest fruit in the world. Peaches are rich in nutrients, antioxidants, and minerals such as vitamin A and C. These help to improve your digestive system, which helps to increase your metabolism. They can improve your heart, bones, and teeth healthy.

6.     Mint

Mint is a the best thing that you can benefit in summers. As we are aware, mint or pudina leaves have a perennial cooling effect. Mint leaves can be added to any drink, such as a water, lemonade and produce the desired effect. Mint infused water may prevent summer headaches and acne.

Mint can keep your skin fresh, cool and healthy during summers. One glass of strained mint water with two drops of lemon works wonders. It acts as a liver cleanser, boosts your metabolism and helps those with a low appetite.

7.      Green Tea

Green tea great to keep your body hydrated and cool.Health specialist said that green tea is the healthiest drink on the earth. It is packed minerals, and nutrients that can improve your health. Drinking green tea instead of sugary soft drinks is the way to go for the summer and all year long.

Green tea  protect our skin from harmful UV rays, it contains powerful antioxidant that absorb UV light and help improve the skin’s resistance to it. Another benefit of drinking green tea during the summer is that it can improve the elasticity of skin, which in turn reduce the risk of sun damage.

Summer can cause disturbed sleep, loss of appetite, and even a weakened immune system. The high content of vitamins and minerals found in  green teas can strengthen your immune system, which help your body to absorb more nutrients.

8.     Strawberries

Strawberries are sweet enough you can eat them for dessert. But the benefits of strawberries go beyond flavor and 91% water content. They provide a rich source of flavonoids, compounds that improve cognitive function. Strawberries are rich in  vitamin C, with a whopping 162.6 percent of your daily goal in just 1 cup of slices! 9.     Sugarcane Juice

Sugarcane juice can help you overcome the sweltering heat and other diseases. Sugarcane contains a large amount of glucose along with other compounds. The glucose and other electrolytes boost your energy, helps cool down the body during the harsh summers.
