There was a massive attack on a train in Baluchistan in March 2025 supported by Indian RAW within Pakistan’s settled borders – yet – Pakistan kept its cool.
India has previously openly stated its claims of supporting Mukti Bahini and breaking up of East Pakistan in 1971.
Pahalgam attack was in a disputed region of Kashmir where the Kashmiris continue to struggle against the occupying Indian Army.
Pahalgam: Is India Overreacting? Well, India and Pakistan are arch rivals. In fact, it is India that has been against the existence of Pakistan. Moreover, it is India that was never able to accept the creation of Pakistan in 1947. Further, it is India that has openly shown its evil designs against Pakistan since 1947. Interestingly, it is always India that keeps crying foul at the global level against Pakistan after it is bitten with its own narrative.
Imagine, if you come up as a hooligan and get thrashed; and you gather people and start crying that you were attacked. It is the similar case with India today. It supports, promotes and conducts terrorism inside Pakistan; and it has been doing it since 15 August 1947. Later, it blames Pakistan for its internal weaknesses, illegitimate actions and inability to keep control of the occupied territories. Whether, it is Punjab, Kashmir, Nagaland or Assam; it is the Indian government that violates the human rights and keeps blaming others for its own crimes.
For this, India employs all illegal means to cover up its own crimes. For instance, Canada shared “clear and compelling evidence” linking Indian government officials to crimes including a Sikh separatist’s murder. Canada termed India a State Sponsor of Terrorism. Moreover, the EU Disinfo Lab unearthed largest Indian network against Pakistan in 65 countries. India has been caught red-handed several times in the past. Yet, it acted the same way the street hooligan reacts.
India’s Role in East Pakistan
There are historical facts behind it. India could never accept the fact that a separate homeland for the Muslims of India could be formed. Once it was created, India had vile plans to break it through any means. While it continued to promote small scale insurgencies in West Pakistan, it was unable to defy the vision of Pakistan’s founders. However, it was able to support Mukti Bahini movement in East Pakistan. As a young nation, the Pakistanis in East Pakistan and the West Pakistan were never able to grasp the level of dual faced Indian strategy for a longtime.
The Indian role was highlighted by Narendra Modi during a fiery speech in Dhaka University in 2015. He acknowledged Indian Government’s involvement in the events of 1971 in the then Eastern Province of Pakistan. It was clearly India’s negative role against a sovereign neighboring state. Yet, the Indian government continued Pakistan bashing for several decades after 1971 while knowing the role of its proxies in East Pakistan. Interestingly, there were false Indian claims against Pakistan Army of raping women in East Pakistan. Today, it is clear that Indian RAW was doing it to falsely implicate the Pakistani Army and create a discord between the people and the armed forces. More interestingly, it is doing the same in Baluchistan today.
India’s Role in Baluchistan
India has been actively promoting illegal movements in Baluchistan right from the inception of Pakistan. It has led to several internal rifts due to attacks on civilians, especially women and children. Interestingly, it uses the same Mukti Bahini technique that it used in Bangladesh. It tries to put the blame on Pakistan Army. While, Pakistan continues to tackle the Indian supported insurgence in the province. It has always used the legal means to deal with the crisis without crying foul to the extent that India would always do.
Kulbhushan Yadav is one such Indian agent who was arrested in 2016. He was involved in promoting terrorism in Pakistan. It was evident that the atrocities in Baluchistan continue at the hands of invisible Indian agents. In fact, a recent terror attack on a train, Balochistan Express, was very much supported by India. India continues to subvert the economic development of Baluchistan through covert operations in the area. Indian operations include illegal killing of innocent women and children. One of the key Indian target includes Chinese nationals in Pakistan. While India continues its crimes against humanity in Pakistan. It keeps its audacity to blame Pakistan for an attack on an occupied territory.
Kashmir – A Disputed Territory
Kashmir is a disputed territory between Pakistan and India. Pakistan claims Kashmir is its jugular vein. Moreover, Pakistan has always supported the rights of Kashmiris to determine their future. On the other hand, India has been an occupying force in Kashmir. It has also never implemented the UN resolution calling for a plebiscite in Kashmir. Interestingly, the Indian government annexed Kashmir through abrogation of Article 370 and 35A unanimously. It was a clear deviation from the UN resolutions, international law and against the principles of the right of Kashmiris to determine their future.
Meanwhile, India is trying to change the demography of Kashmir through giving fake domiciles to settle Indian Hindus in Muslim majority Kashmir. In fact, Mushaal Mullick had warned of a catastrophic conflict due to Kashmir issue. However, the Indian side continues to ignore the ground realities.
One of India’s goal is to create an impression that everything is alright in Kashmir. It has used several illegal means to create this impression as previously stated. However, the people of Kashmir feel annihilated, threatened and occupied under the Indian Army. India has also illegally arrested the actual political leadership of Kashmir. Resultantly, the Indian youth feels disgruntled, unguided and under an occupying force. Thus, it results in serious apprehensions amongst the local Kashmiris and they are forced to resort to Pahalgam like attacks.
Pahalgam: Is India Overreacting?
One of India’s problems is that it continues to blame others for its own mistakes. Although, India has announced the suspension of Indus Water Treaty. It is definitely a miscalculated action which may have very dangerous consequences. Pakistan and India are nuclear powers and India needs to behave in the same manner. Otherwise, it would not remain away from a very catastrophic situation.
As we question if India is overreacting? Well, it definitely is overreacting. In Pahalgam, several members of Indian security forces were killed. The statements reflect that no women or children were hurt. Unlike India which targeted women and children in East Pakistan and Baluchistan. Even then, Pakistan’s reaction was very calm and calculated.
India needs to look inwards instead of looking outwards. It needs to immediately reinstate Article 370 and 35A as a friendly gesture to the Kashmiris, whose land it wants to usurp. India also needs to implement the UN resolutions of plebiscite in Kashmir. Most importantly, it needs to change its policy of using the proxies in the other internal matters of its neighboring countries.
