Muslims do not follow majority

How Our Cultural Frontier is Affected From Warfare?

How Our Cultural Frontier is Affected From Warfare? Western culture has influenced the Muslim young generation, which affects the culture, traditions, development, and prosperity of a nation as a whole.

Celebrating any Un-Islamic festival is not allowed in Islam. But some irrelevant festivals that have celebrated by Muslims are now becoming norms in Muslim society. These irrelevant events include the celebration of New Year, Bridal Shower, Baby Shower, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Valentine’s day, and much more. These events are now taking place in form of our culture and norms. If it continued, our future generations lose their cultural identity. We are creating nothing but trouble for the Muslim world, Instead, we are unaware of its consequences.

Negative Influence Of Western Culture

Are we Muslim? I feel extremely embarrassed when this question comes to my mind. We are living in a Muslim state, known as “The Islamic Republic of Pakistan”. In our country, Muslims are following non-Muslims norms, which have been existent in our society for centuries.

It is observed, Eid and other religious festivals are steadily losing their charm. Our youngsters are more excited about the new year, anniversary, birthdays. The main concern should be that how far is this influence going to affect today’s generation?

Reason Behind?

Our media, Newscasters, famous Characters celebrate western festivals, that exploit our youth. Media shows us different programs that negatively affect children about drugs, disobedience, and unnecessary freedom. Different Catalogues, Magazines, Billboards clearly show the impact of westernization in Pakistan.

Media plays a central role in encouraging youth to adopt western culture by calling it modernization. It results in unnecessary expenditure and promotes immorality.

The Islamic scholar of Saudi Arabia Muhammad ibn al-Uthaymeen wrote in his book:

“The problem is that nowadays people think adopting non-Muslims norms is glory and they think returning towards prophet and companions were upon his backwardness.”

Our nation is rapidly imitating these irrelevant cultures. Which can be observed through the way of their celebrations, dressing, eating, and preferences.

Moreover, these irrelevant celebrations are changing Muslim believes. It also embarrasses the poor community who doesn’t have enough resources to celebrate this.

Thus it’s important that the new Muslim generation should be informed of Muslim culture. There is a need to teach them what Islamic Law says. Hence cultural identity does not lose for future generations.

Why Do Muslims Should Not Celebrate These Irrelevant Occasions?

The Holy Quran has provided all the festivals, which Muslims are able to participate. Holy Quran gives us proper instructions about celebration. Anything outside of our religion is considered a sin and is strictly forbidden. The most Important obligation upon Muslims is to become the ambassadors of Islam, showing its beauty through their manners, words, and actions.

If we think – what’s wrong? How its harm? we are celebrating happiness only, but Islam make this clear to you

  • The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

Whoever imitates (copy) a people is one of them.” (Abu Dawud)

  • Additionally Hadith Prophet (PBUH) Said:

“The final hour will not come until my followers imitate the deeds of previous nations and follow them very closely, span by span, inch by inch” (Bukhari)

Thus, Muslims should not celebrate those festivals or seasonal celebrations that were not celebrated by the Prophet and his companions.

Muslim Don’t Follow The Herd

Keeping all of the above in mind, it becomes clear that Muslims don’t blindly follow the crowd. They only follow what is in Quran and sunnah. Islam teaches us to promote sincerity and love. It does not restrict us to show our joy, brotherly, and marital love just one day in a year.

How We Protect Our Culture For The Future?

The majority of youth is involving in western culture day by day, which negatively affects our religion and norms. Hence it is the need of the hour to protect our culture in the following ways:

  • Easy access to western celebrations should be more restricted by the government.
  • Government should ban those TV shows and other media that leave a negative impact on our norms.
  • There should motivational programs by informing the youth about bad effects of western culture.
  • Educational institutes should inform their students regarding Islamic culture and how to preserve it for future generations. Western culture’s damaging aspects should be spread among the young generation in a proper way.
  • Religious festivals should be observed with more importance such as Ramadan, Eid, etc.
  • Religious rules-regulations should exercise properly among the young generation.

Thus there is an extreme need that authorities should take immediate action to save our valuable culture before the situation gets worse.
